New Features in Version 14.1 (April 2014)

Job Costing

An Inactive checkbox was added to individual Cost Code Budgets. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

The option to print AP and AR History reports By Job was added to the Job Costing Universal Report. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

Reports in the Job Costing Universal Report may now be manually sorted.

The column headers on Job Cost Analysis reports are now printed AFTER the extended header information. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

A new Quick Entry window for setting up Cost Code Budgets allows the quick entry of many Budget Line Items in a row. (Another User Conference Suggestion; in fact, it was the WINNER of the Philly User Conference Suggestion Contest.)

Job Totals by Cost Type (Labor, Materials, etc.) may now be printed in the Job Cost Analysis report. In addition, the Labor Total line includes a field for "Total Average Labor Rate."

The Job Cost Analysis report now has an "Unpaid Balance" (billed less received) amount in the extended header.

The User-Defined Job Cost Analysis report now has an optional column that adds Committed Costs to Actual Costs.

Accounts Payable

The Payment Selection screen now displays invoices with Totals at the bottom of the numeric columns.

A new printing option allows the ability to increase or decrease spacing between two 1099s on the printed page. This was added to compensate for the differences in the way suppliers print 1099s.

A Default Checking Account Number was added to the AP Batch Settings window. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

The AS-OF Aging report now has a limit to exclude vendors marked as Inactive. This speeds up the calculation of the report on very large data sets.

Accounts Receivable

A new option allows for sending an Invoice to your choice of Contacts listed for that customer.

Each Scheduled Value line item in the Draw Request Billing program now includes an icon that indicates whether the line item has been billed. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

When printing Draw documents, a new option allows printing zero amounts as “0.00” or as blanks.

The Job Number was added to the display of Unposted AR Invoices in the batch entry window.

A new button was added to the Invoice Entry Batch window to create Finance Charge Invoices for all eligible customers.

Freight Charge and Miscellaneous Charges were added to the Invoice Import function.

The number of digits in the Deposit Reference Number in Receipts Entry was increased.

The size of the Contract Number field in Job Setup was increased.

Draw document can now be printed showing either Customer 1 or Customer 2 from Job Setup, listed as “Owner.”

General Ledger

The Detail by Account report now has the option of having a Running Total column or Debit and Credit columns. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

When printing the Reconciliation Analysis report during the final stage of Bank Statement Reconciliation, printing a list of Outstanding and Marked Transactions is now optional.

The full Transaction Description is now printed on General Ledger reports. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

The ability to Shift-Click to select a range of transactions was added to Bank Statement Reconciliation. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

Sales Order

The Fax Number was added to printed Price Quotes and Sales Orders.

Payroll

A new version of the Employee Commission report was added that compares Commissions & Billed Amounts by Employee to the Employee's Wages & Burden, calculating a profit for each employee.

The Employee Emergency Contact has new fields for Relationship and two Phone Numbers. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

An additional Email field was added to the employee file. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

The Payroll Deduction Report may now be limited by Check Date.

The Payroll Certification report now processes a range of 7 days or less as the same as entering the same date in both fields.

In Timesheet Entry, tabs change to a bold label when there is data displayed on that tab. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

A blank OSHA Form 301 form may now be printed. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

The Employee Listing can now be set to include or exclude the Social Security Number, or to print only the last 4 digits.

The employee’s Mobile Phone Number may now be imported in the Employee Import function.

Timesheet information for Executive Employees is now excluded from the Timesheet Proof Listing if the user does not have executive access.

Electronic File Cabinet

An email may now be sent directly from the File Cabinet, with all the attachments for that entity attached to the email. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

Purchase Order

A blank Purchase Order form may now be printed. In addition, there is an option to print it with an Assigned PO number.

General Enhancements

A new function allows filtering the new Email Log by the sender's Email Address. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

Customer and Vendor additional contacts now have a Title field. (Another User Conference Suggestion.)

All batches now have a user-defined setting for “Repetitive Insert.” This option allows the user to indicate whether a new entry window will be displayed after each entry.

A new “safety net” was added to the Invoice, Timesheet, and Transaction Entry windows that warns if the user enters a transaction that is to post to a Control Account, an account not normally used for direct postings.

The “Batch In Use” flag was changed to a “User ID” field, so JobView knows who has the batch open. This allows the original user back into the batch if JobView shuts down improperly, or indicates which other user may have the batch “checked out.”
