Interactive Calculator

The Calculator function available all throughout the accounting system. It can be accessed either by clicking on the Calculator button on the icon bar or by pressing the F5 button from anywhere in the system. If the calculator is opened by clicking the Calculator button, it acts as a standard calculator.

Interactive Functions

If the calculator is accessed by pressing F5 when the cursor is blinking in a numeric entry field, it will open displaying the number currently stored in the entry field. For example, if the currently selected field contains a value of 526,600.00 and the F5 button is pressed, the calculator will be displayed as follows:

 Notice how the number from our entry field is already shown in the calculator display. Calculations can now be performed on the number. If the Display Tape button has been pressed, the tape window on the right will show the calculations in this manner:
 

 Now the result of the calculations, in this case 577,225.00, can be inserted into the highlighted numeric entry field. To do so, click the Paste, or green tick button on the calculator window. To close the calculator without replacing the contents of the numeric field, press the Escape key on the keyboard or click the Cancel, or red X button.

When the tape window is being displayed, two buttons at the bottom allow for clearing the tape or printing the contents of the tape to the printer.
