Date Fields and the Calendar

Date fields have functionality that can save time when used properly. Here is the common look of date fields in the system:


 
 

The date is displayed in a "Spin" entry field that has an up-arrow and a down-arrow. Click the up-arrow or press the up-arrow key on the keyboard to advance the date one day. Click the down-arrow or press the down-arrow key on the keyboard to go back one day.

Located next to the date field is a calendar icon. In order to use the calendar to look up a date, click on the calendar button or press the F2 key on the keyboard. A calendar like this will appear:

 



 Click on the desired date and it will be selected and returned to the date field.

Changing to a Different Week, Month or Year

To change to a different week, month or year, use the arrow buttons at the top of the calendar.
Click the single arrows ( ) to move forward or back one week.
Click the double arrows ( or ) to move forward or back one month.
 Click the begin and end arrows ( or ) to move forward or back one year.
 

Today (button)

When this button is pressed, Today's date is highlighted.


 

Close (button)

Highlight the desired date and press the OK button. This option accepts the highlighted date and returns to the previous screen.

Special Keyboard Functions

In addition to using the spin field and calendar functions, the user can also simply click a keyboard shortcut while the date field is selected to change the date according to this table:
