Unemployment Reports

The Unemployment Reports produced by this option show end-of-quarter tax information for state disability and unemployment insurance. At the end of each calendar quarter, the operator may print an Unemployment Report. This report contains summary information on each employee’s number of weeks worked and wages paid. A summary of unemployment insurance, taxable wages and disability insurance taxable wages is also included.

The following screen comes into view when this option is selected under Reports on the Payroll main menu.

Click on any column header to sort the listed items. This will be useful when the list of reports has grown.

Add or Change (button)

To modify the information used in generating the report, press the Add button or highlight the desired report title and press the Change button. For more information, see Add or Change an Unemployment Report

Delete (button)

Press the Delete button and the following screen comes into view. Press the Yes button and the highlighted record will be deleted and the previous screen will come into view. If the No button is pressed, the program returns to the previous screen.

Print (button)

To print a report, press the Print button. For more information, see Printing Reports.

Note: If the message "Nothing to Print" comes into view when the Print button is pressed, there are two main causes:
 A. There is no information within the selected limits. Remove all limits, then, one at a time, reinsert the limits. If the report still will not print, insert a new report title.
 B. No report title is selected. The report title is used to store the selected limits. A report title must be selected in order for the report to print.

Close (button)

This button closes the program and returns to the main screen.

Change or Add an Unemployment Report

To Add or Change a report, press the appropriate button and the following screen will come into view. This screen displays the possible limits that may be set. All limits must be set.

Report Title

The title of the report. Warning: The title is used to store the selected limits. If no title is entered for the report, the message "Nothing to Print" will come into view when trying to print the report.

User

Enter the User ID of the report creator.

Lock (check box)

If this option is selected, only the User listed in the User field can change or delete this report.

Year

Select the earnings year for the data to be included on the report.

Select Quarter (radio button)

Select the quarter to be printed on the report.

Select Date Range (radio button)

Enter the beginning date for the quarter or press the lookup button and a Calendar comes into view. Highlight the desired date and press the Select button (the default date is the first day of the quarter in which ‘Today’s Date’ is found). The ending date is automatically calculated and displayed after the beginning date is entered. The operator may change this date if desired by clicking on the lookup button to choose another date from the calendar.

Calculate Wages for Following State

In this field, the operator may enter the ID of the state for which the report should be run. The report may also be printed on a federal level by entering ‘00’ instead of a State ID.

Orientation

Portrait (radio button)

Specifies how the report is positioned on the page when printed. Portrait is the standard. Portrait is printed vertically.

Landscape (radio button)

Specifies how the report is positioned on the page when printed. Landscape is printed horizontally.

Save and Print (button)

Click this button to save the current settings and print the report immediately, without having to return to the Report Title browse window.

Report Description: Unemployment Report

This report contains a heading with the report name, company name and page number.

Department Use

This column is required by the state and will always be blank.

Social Security Number

This column contains the employee’s social security number

Name

This is the employee name.

Weeks Worked

This column shows the number of weeks the employee worked.

Wages Paid This Quarter

This is the total wage paid to this employee.

DI Tips

This column is required by the state for tips to be reported as taxable. This is never used in construction and therefore is always blank.

Total Wages

This is the total wages for all employees.

Unemployment Insurance Taxable Wages

This is the total amount of wages that are subject to unemployment insurance taxes.

Disability Insurance Taxable Wages

This is the total amount of wages that are subject to disability insurance taxes.
